Brooks Hanson 
Brooks Hanson is AGU’s executive vice president for science where he’s responsible for overseeing AGU’s publications, meetings, ethics programs, Thriving Earth Exchange and coordinating science activities across these initiatives. He served previously as AGU’s senior vice president for publications, and oversaw editorial operations of AGU’s portfolio of books and scholarly journals.
Before joining AGU, Hanson served as deputy editor for physical sciences at Science. He is a fellow of the Geological Society of America and the Mineralogical Society of America.
But the AGU Fall Meeting is not over. For the more than 24,000 registrants who attended #AGU21, all of the content—sessions, posters and recorded talks—is available for viewing until the end of February.
AGU members will soon have access to the full text of all AGU subscription journals, amounting to thousands of cutting-edge papers each year spanning the Earth and space sciences.
Today, we are pleased to announce the inaugural editorial team for Community Science Exchange, made up of leading experts and thought leaders around community science who represent all the supporting societies. The web platform and journal are now open for various submissions and contributions.
Five leading societies are pleased to join forces to form a portal for fostering community science.
On 28 July 2021, AGU submitted comments to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP)’s Request for Information to Improve Federal Scientific Integrity Policies.
In mid-April, NSF contacted AGU and several other societies to rapidly convene our respective communities and provide robust input and innovative ideas on climate change solutions to help inform a potential implementation strategy.
Seven societies, including AGU, are joining together to further enable open science by officially participating in the governance and continued development of ESSOAr.org, the Earth and Space Open Archive.
One way you can share your #AGU20 presentations is on the Earth and Space Science Open Archive (ESSOAr.org), a preprint and meeting presentation server led by AGU and other scholarly societies.
