2020 was an unforgettable year – from the global pandemic causing a worldwide shutdown to the racial reckoning around the world. Throughout the year, when people wanted to engage on Earth and space science issues, AGU was here to support us…I encourage you to read the Annual Report for more details on our projects and programs. AGU is excited to receive the 2021 Power of A award, having previously won two Power of A awards in 2020 for its Centennial programs and in 2019 for the Thriving Earth Exchange.
We also know some of you may be wondering what happens now with AGU Fall Meeting 2021 that will be in New Orleans, LA from 13-17 December. We are in close contact with state and local officials as they continue to assess the situation. We ask you to please be patient with us while we work with them to make sure we can have a safe meeting for all.

We are excited to announce AGU’s journal Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems (G-Cubed), which publishes research on the chemistry, physics, geology and biology of Earth and planetary processes, will become open access and all content published in the journal will be freely available starting 1 January 2022. AGU is also pleased to announce that starting 9 July 2021, we will eliminate excess page fees for all open access journals and for authors who purchase an open access license in our other journals.
