AGU statement on Ukraine
AGU is deeply troubled by the invasion of Ukraine and the resulting humanitarian crisis and loss of life that has appalled the world. We are especially concerned for the safety and well-being of members of our own Earth and space sciences community and their families in Ukraine. Our greatest desire is for peace, and we stand with so many around the world in calling for an immediate end to this brutal assault.

I do not wish that AGU should enter the arena of political comments. Otherwise, AGU would have to comment on human suffering and refugee problems arising from political activities and aggressions in Haiti, Myanmar, D.R. Congo, Kashmir, Pakistan, Mozambique, etc.
