AGU Announces 2023 Honors
Every year, AGU celebrates those who have made profound contributions to the Earth and space sciences. Today, we are proud to announce this year’s recipients of AGU’s Union Medals, Awards and Prizes; Fellows; Section Awards and Lectures; and Scholarship and Grants.
AGU’s Honors Program recognizes many individuals and teams for their accomplishments in research, education, science communication and outreach. Honorees and their scientific efforts have transformed our understanding of the world, impacted our everyday lives, improved our communities and contributed to solutions for a sustainable future.
Honorees will be recognized at AGU23, which will convene more than 25,000 attendees from over 100 countries in San Francisco and online everywhere on 11-15 December 2023.
This year, we are excited to share that honorees will be celebrated in perpetuity through the Honors Explorer—a new tool that will showcase AGU’s entire history of honors recipients. With clear and concise pages, a comprehensive database of honors and detailed filters to help narrow any search, the Honors Explorer will also help streamline the nomination process. This is just one way AGU is honoring its commitment to enhancing transparency and increasing accessibility and fairness in the honors program.
We are grateful to the Honors and Recognition Committee, the selection committees, nominators, nomination supporters, volunteers and staff for their support and commitment to AGU’s Honors Program.
Please join us in congratulating the 2023 AGU honorees.
