AGU announces proposed slate for the 2022 Board and Council Elections

By: ,

The AGU Leadership Development/Governance Committee and Section and College of Fellows officers are pleased to announce the proposed slate of candidates for the 2022 AGU election.

Every two years, per its bylaws, AGU elects leaders for the Board and Council, Sections and the College of Fellows who will move the organization forward and will be instrumental in continuing to implement AGU’s Strategic Plan with its three main goals:

  • Catalyze discovery and solutions to scientific and societal challenges
  • Promote and exemplify an inclusive scientific culture
  • Partner broadly with other organizations and sectors to effectively address scientific and societal challenges

Elected leaders serve two-year terms. The slate of candidates selected for the AGU Board of Directors, the student and early-career members of the AGU Council, the Section presidents-elect and secretaries and the College of Fellows vice chair is posted online at agu.org/elections. This slate reflects diverse and qualified candidates for open leadership positions. Thanks to members, volunteers, and staff who nominated potential candidates and those who have agreed to put their names forward for the ballot.

Only AGU members may vote in September. Join AGU or renew your membership by 5 August to be eligible.
