Webinar: Conversations with the Geological Society of America’s Bromery Awardees

10 November 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST

Geological society of america logoThis webinar series draws on the experiences of a wide spectrum of current and emerging leaders in the geosciences to elicit lessons about how the profession can better embody justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI). These conversations will center around JEDI, access, and sustainability in the geosciences, as we seek to advance scientific discovery, rigor, and integrity and solve Earth’s challenges as a geoscience community. Each webinar will be moderated by a recipient of the Randolph W. “Bill” and Cecile T. Bromery Award. The featured speakers will alternate between Bromery awardees and other geoscientists invited by awardees, with a focus on engaging Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) participants.

The second webinar in this series will feature Dr. Aradhna Tripati, Associate Professor at UCLA. Dr. Tripati will talk about her career, discuss her research, share her perspectives about JEDI in the geosciences, and address audience questions.

Presented by: Geological Society of America (GSA).

Promotional partners include: American Geophysical Union (AGU), GSA Quaternary Geology & Geomorphology Division, GSA Structural Geology & Tectonics Division, Geoscience Alliance, Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), Institute for Broadening Participation (IBP), National Association of Black Geoscientists (NABG) , National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), UNAVCO.
