Carol Frost is AGU’s Publications Committee Chair. In this role since February 2020, she leads the committee to ensure the journals remain an integral component to AGU's strategic plan while advancing the Earth and space science discovery and solution-based science.
Carol Frost is professor emerita in the Department of Geology and Geophysics, University of Wyoming. She served on the faculty from 1983 to 2020 and also held various administrative roles. From 2014-18, she was director of the Division of Earth Sciences at the National Science Foundation. Frost is 2020 President of the Mineralogical Society of America. Her research focuses mainly on the origin and evolution of the continental crust and the classification and petrogenesis of granites and related rocks, and she also has applied environmental isotopes to problems related to energy and the environment. She earned her A.B. (1979) from Dartmouth College and her Ph.D. (1984) from the University of Cambridge, both in Earth Sciences.
