We also have a plea for 2022: we need to remain focused and dedicated to improving the diversity of our candidate pool and recognizing excellence throughout the Earth and space science community. If we want to create a more diverse and inclusive community, every single one of us needs to actively be a part of the solution. We need canvassers and nominators to ensure they are submitting a diverse pool of candidates. The AGU Honors and Recognition Committee is eager to work on the 2022 nomination cycle so that we can prove that 2021 was an anomaly.
2020 was an unforgettable year – from the global pandemic causing a worldwide shutdown to the racial reckoning around the world. On behalf of the Earth and space sciences community, thank you for your continued support.
AGU is excited to receive the 2021 Power of A award, having previously won two Power of A awards in 2020 for its Centennial programs and in 2019 for the Thriving Earth Exchange.
